Despite off all those material things that can make a tourist location good, I believe it is always the locals that can make a location great, and Taiwanese people has that essential quality that really makes this island pop! Although the island is relatively small, it has included so much diversity while maintain many of the historic Chinese culture. Since this is a kiters' blog... here comes the important thing, on the island we have winds ALL YEAR around.
Due to the geographical reason, the wind is always strong up north of Taiwan. Therefore, the farer down south you travel the wind gets weaker. Meanwhile, since majority of the island's developments are located on the west coast in order to avoid the damage bring by Typhoons on the Pacific, hence more spots are known by the locals.
Generally up at the northern part of Taiwan have wind more than 300 days a year. However, in turn of my own personal opinion, the conditions are general harsher up north than down south. If you are welling to travel around more during your extended stay in Taiwan, beaches on the east coast of Taiwan would be perfect for those hot summers days. Then in the winter station in the middle of Taiwan, which guarantees you with the wind that you desire for.
In the next few days, this blog will continue to post articles on Taiwan beaches in English!! I hope that for all of you foreign friends can get a better look at these beaches along the coast line of our beloved island.
Sincerely
Robert Chen
